The Royal Commission has called a directions hearing to be held in Perth at 9:00am AWST on Wednesday 7 May 2014.

The purpose of the directions hearing is to hear from those with leave to appear about the claim of legal professional privilege made by an independent school over a series of documents.

The Royal Commission will hold a public hearing into the independent school commencing on 19 May 2014.

An order of the District Court of Western Australia and the Evidence Act 1906 (WA) prevent the identification of the school and the perpetrator involved in this hearing.

The directions hearing will be presided over by Justice Peter McClellan AM, Chair of the Royal Commission and will be live streamed.
