Royal Commissioners visit Coffs Harbour for the first time
The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, together with the Coffs Harbour Neighbourhood Centre, will be holding a community information forum in Coffs Harbour on 12 February 2014.
Royal Commission CEO, Janette Dines, said this is the first time the Royal Commission has visited Coffs Harbour.
This community information forum will outline the work of the Royal Commission and the ways in which people can tell their own story or support others to come forward.
“Individuals and community groups will have the opportunity to talk to Commissioners and ask questions. Information about knowmore, a free legal advice service to help navigate the Royal Commission, will also be available,” Ms Dines said.
In addition to the information forum, private sessions with Commissioners will be held in the Coffs Coast region for the first time.
The Coffs Harbour Neighbourhood Centre will also be holding a support meeting for survivors of child sexual abuse on 13 February 2014.
The Royal Commission will be in Coffs Harbour from 12 – 14 February 2014.
