The Royal Commission held a public hearing in Sydney from Monday 21 October to Friday 1 November 2013, on Friday 20 December 2013 and on Thursday 16 October 2014.
The public hearing inquired into the responses of YMCA and police to allegations made in 2011 that Jonathan Lord sexually abused children in the care of YMCA.
The scope and purpose of the public hearing was to inquire into:

The circumstances in which Jonathan Lord was employed by YMCA.

The policies and procedures in place at YMCA including for training and supervision of staff.

The responses of YMCA to allegations made in 2011 that Jonathan Lord sexually abused children in the care of YMCA.

The response of police to allegations made in 2011 that Jonathan Lord sexually abused children in the care of YMCA and in other circumstances.
-
Any other related matters.
